'Oh I do like to be beside the seaside... Oh I do like to be beside the sea...'
Colwyn Bay on the North Wales coast has undergone something of a revamp recently, with a new promenade, sandy beach and the construction of Porth Eirias watersports and restaurant complex.
All of which has turned what was a very downmarket stretch of coast into a rather splendid spot for a day out.
This panoramic view, photographed from the viewing platform on the roof of Porth Eirias, shows the sweep of Colwyn Bay all the way round to Rhos-on-Sea on an unusually sunny day in late December 2019.
As you can see, there are plenty of people out enjoying a day at the seaside.
In fact, the only thing that's missing is the pier, which, after years of neglect, fell into the sea and had to be dismantled.
