The golden orb of the sun was just setting over the slopes of Moel Famau, the highest peak in the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), North Wales, as my wife Liz and I pulled up into the car park at the base of the hill.
The late April evening was perfectly still, and with the sky glowing orange and red I wasted no time in setting up my camera and tripod to record the hundreds of still images I needed to create my Moel Famau Sunset Timelapse #3 video.
It only seemed like and instant later that the sun had disappeared behind the silhouetted slope, leaving a beautiful afterglow in the sky above which I kept on filming until the colours started to leach from the sky, signalling the onset of twilight.
Conditions like these are rare in North Wales, and I'm so glad I as able to capture just a brief few moments of such beauty.
