An excursion up to the top of the limestone escarpment at Loggerheads Country Park in the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), found me arriving breathless, but just in time to watch and film the sun setting over the slopes of Moel Famau over to the west.
At the time of shooting this video, in early September, the sun was setting just to the north of the summit, with the iconic stump of the collapsed Jubilee Tower showing up nicely in silhouette against the bright sky.
My plan is to return a little later in the year and, weather permitting, catch the sun setting directly over the tower with a long lens.
But that needs a cloudless afternoon and no wind to shke the lens - quite a tall order in North Wales!
But I live in hope!
