Just after sunrise on a chilly spring morning, and I'm up and about early for a dawn photoshoot on the beach at Talacre on the North Wales coast.
This is definitely the best time to be here as, apart for a few seagulls, I've got the huge acreage of sand to myself, pristine and devoid of footprints having been smoothed out overnight by the ebbing tide.
And, of course, there's the iconic and improbable Point of Ayr lighthouse sticking out of the beach on its concrete plug, its white painted tower just glowing nicely in the newly risen sun.
But what this particular scene needed was a bit of foreground interest, so I scouted around until I came across this piece of driftwood, conveniently placed by the outgoing tide.
What a lovely way to spend the early morning before heading off to the factory for the start of the working day.
