What an evening to spend on the beach watching the sunset and tide unfolding in front of you.
It was a full moon in May when I took the stills for this video, and the promise of clear skies and an 8 metre high tide were too good a combination to resist.
I chose Talacre as my beach of choice for this particular video because a) it's very flat so the tide races in quite dramatically and covers a lot of ground while doing so and, of course, b) there's a daft abandoned lighthouse stuck in the sand on a concrete plug around which the tide can swirl quite dramatically.
This video encompasses a time period from around 8.45pm to 11.45pm. Only three hours, but there's a lot going on during that time.
I certainly didn't get bored watching the play of light and tide unfolding in front of me, and I only packed in when my tripod threatened to wash away.
The tide came a little higher than I anticipated!
