With its north facing coastline, the beaches along the North Wales coast are perfect for watching and photographing a summer sunset.
Which is just what I did on this beautiful evening in mid July 2007, with my chosen beach location being the seafront at Rhyl.
At low tide there is a vast expanse of sand exposed, punctuated by tidal pools and channels in whose still waters the stunning colours of the sunset are reflected in a most impressive manner.
And for the icing on the photographic cake, the beach is strewn with seaside architecture in the form of old wooden groynes, warning posts and the like.
Just a wonderful selection of light, colour and graphic elements that combine together to create a visual spectacle worthy of a photograph or two.
