A freezing cold, clear moonless November night in the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales, and my wife Liz and I are out and about enjoying the spectacular show in the heavens above.
Now a 'Dark Skies' reserve, Snowdonia presents some amazing opportunities for stargazing and astrophotography of all kinds.
The milky way was clearly visible this night as we drove around some of our favourite locations, with me taking photos at every available opportunity using my wide angle star photography technique.
This view was captured from a layby on the side of Llyn Ogwen in the Ogwen valley between the Glyderau and Carneddau mountain ranges and shows the milky way arching over the lake as a passing car leaves a traffic light trail along the A5 road.
Just an amazing night, and one I intend to repeat, but maybe when it's a bit warmer!
