It's high summer in the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales, and life is in full swing with lambs fattening up in the fields and trees in full foliage, taking advantage of the sixteen hour days up here at 53°N latitude.
My wife Liz and I are also taking advantage of the long days, exploring some of our old favourite beauty spots and discovering new ones as well.
One of the loveliest places we know and visit regularly throughout the year is Llyn Gwynant, a natural lake nestled in the Gwynant valley at the foot of Snowdon, and like so many places in Snowdonia, displaying a vast range of moods over the seasons.
But on this calm, sunny, summer's day the lake and mountains are in a friendly frame of mind, with a light breeze ruffling the surface of the lake as a few light cumulus clouds drift over the nearby mountains.
Perfect for a picnic by the lakeside, but of course I can't just sit there and do nothing, so it's out with the camera to record a few impressions of this rare sunny afternoon in Snowdonia.
