Every time my wife Liz and I go abroad on holiday, we try and explore an area that we've never been to before.
So after a few previous winter breaks on Tenerife in the Canary Islands, we made a point of heading to the less touristified north coast for a closer look.
And we found some absolute gems, with one of our favourite 'new' places being Punta del Hidalgo, a town right on the volacanic atlantic coast, and billed as one of the best spots on the island to watch a sunset from.
So while Liz relaxed on a bench on the promenade, I set up my cameras on the seawall, one pointing along the coast and this one, pointing directly at the sunset out to the west.
Now the north coast has a different type of weather to the south, with much more cloud blowing in off the ocean on the prevailing winds, and I was delighted to see the sun dodging in and out of the broken clouds as it set, sending vivid sunbeams shooting across the heavens.
It was just a treat to sit and watch the lightshow, in the fresh sea air, with the sound of atlantic rollers breaking on the rocks below us.
Well worth the long drive just to be here!
