Love them or hate them, the giant offshore turbines of the Gwynt y Mor (Sea Wind) wind farm have changed the views out to sea from Colwyn Bay on the North Wales coast forever.
The second largest offshore wind farm in the world has certainly put North Wales on the renewable energy map, and I have to admit that I love them, both from an environmental point of view and from a photographic point of view as well.
In fact I've photographed them, videoed them and created time lapse sequences of them for many years now, under all sorts of different lighting, weather and sunrise/sunset conditions.
This particular image of the turbines is taken from a sequence of hundreds that I shot from Porth Eirias to make my Wind Farm time Lapse #3 video, showing sunlight and shadow playing over the turbines as cumulus clouds stream by overhead.

Filters - 10 stop neutral density filter used to prolong the exposure time plus 2 stop neutral density graduated filter used to darken the sky
