Known for its heavily developed tourist belt along the south coast, Tenerife in the Canary Islands has a wonderful variety of landscapes, biodiversity and old towns adorning its volcanic interior.
Which is where my wife Liz and I spent most of our time during a week long winter break in January 2020.
Our little hire car racked up the miles (kilometres?) as we drove all over the island, determined to explore places normally ignored by most visitors.
One such trip took us to the northeast corner of Tenerife where, on the way back south near sunset, we stopped at an overlook to take in the view over the mountains surrounding the town of La Laguna.
We ended up spending about an hour here as I shot the hundreds of still images needed to create my Tenerife Laguna Timelapse #1 video.
But before I began the time lapse shoot I took the time to take a dozen or so overlappping images to create this panoramic collage of the lovely landscape, lit by the low angled sun.
It was fully dark by the time we left, but well worth staying out to see and photograph such a beautiful scene.
