A freezing cold, clear moonless November night in the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales, and my wife Liz and I are out and about enjoying the spectacular show in the heavens above.
Now a 'Dark Skies' reserve, Snowdonia presents some amazing opportunities for stargazing and astrophotography of all kinds.
The milky way was clearly visible this night as we drove around some of our favourite locations, with me taking photos at every available opportunity using my wide angle star photography technique.
This view was captured from the viewpoint on the A498 between Capel Curig and Beddgelert and shows the milky way rising from behind the peak of Snowdon.
Just an amazing night, and one I intend to repeat, but maybe when it's a bit warmer!
