A late evening in May 2007 and it was a rare day on the North Wales coast, with clear skies right down to the horizon.
My wife Liz and I were taking a stroll along the promenade at Rhyl, watching entranced as the sky turned golden to the west, out over the Irish Sea, as the sun dropped towards the horizon.
Too good an opportunity to miss, especially as the tide was out, leaving acres of wet sand and tidal pools reflecting the beautiful colours overhead, so it was quickly out with the camera and tripod to capture some of the loveliness unfolding in front of our eyes.
This image, taken just after sunset, was captured from the beach next to a calm tidal pool, and I included two figures conveniently placed at the water's edge to givre a sense of life and scale to the composition.
