An Indian summer in late September 2020 was all the encouragement my wife Liz and I needed to drive down from our home in North Wales, through the Snowdonia National Park, and onto the welsh coast at Barmouth and the Mawddach estuary.
We spent a delightful couple of hours exploring Barmouth and walking over the famous railway bridge across the estuary before heading upstream to the old wooden toll bridge, crossing the river Mawddach at Penmaenpool.
Penmaenpool proved to be a delight, and while we sat in the sun by the riverbank sipping coffees outside the George III pub I just couldn't resist getting my camera out, shooting a variety of time lapse, video, panoramic collages and single images such as this one, taken a few metres downriver from the bridge and featuring a small moored yacht with the foothills of the Snowdonia mountains in the background.
On a lovely afternoon like this, where else would you want to be?
