I love to photograph transitions, when conditions are on the edge of change.
Such as the change of the seasons, the turn of the tide, an approaching weather system, a new moon or, of course, the gradual change in light at dawn or dusk.
Sometimes I'm fortunate enough to capture a combination of these changes, such as in this photograph featuring a new cresent moon dropping towards the horizon at dusk as the twilight colours fade from orange along the horizon to the cool blue tones of night higher in the sky.
Add in the silhouette of the treeline and you have the makings of a highly evocative image, all based around change.
