Having spent a good chunk of an early summer's afternoon in 2017 exploring and hiking around the beautiful Cregennan Lakes in the Snowdonia National Park, Mid Wales, teatime arrived and so my wife Liz and I headed down to Fairbourne for a coffee and something to eat.
We took our coffee and picnic tea out along the spit of land which sticks out from Fairbourne into the mouth of the Mawddach estuary and parked up overlooking the stunning views of the tidal flats, railway bridge and mountains beyond, all topped off with a marshmallow like coating of light fluffy cumulus clouds.
I'm afraid my coffee got cold and my picnic went untouched for quite a while as I revelled in the photographic opportunities laid out like a visual smorgasbord in front of me.
I started off by shooting the hundreds of frames needed to make my Fairbourne Time Lapse #2 video, and once I'd finished that I turned my attention to capturing as much of the beauty of this wonderful place as I could.
As the layout of the view was especially long and narrow I decided to take a series of overlapping frames, to be blended together later in Adobe Lightroom to make this panoramic collage, which takes in approximately 180° and covers most of the loveliness that I could see from this point.
And so I finally got round to drinking my cold coffee and eating my picnic, long after Liz had finished hers of course.
