The promise of a good weather forecast had me booking a day off work to spend the time on a photographic binge in the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales.
There are so many beautiful places to visit in the park, and on this occasion I chose one of the most popular and iconic locations, the Miners Track that runs from Pen-y-Pass up to the summit of Snowdon, passing the three lakes of Llyn Teryn, Llyn Llydaw and Glaslyn on the way.
I had no intention of climbing to the summit, as I find mountains look much better from the bottom looking up than from the top looking down!
Instead, I spent most of the day around Llyn Llydaw, the largest and most photogenic of the three lakes.
I arrived at the lakeshore well before sunrise, in order to shoot my Llyn Llydaw Timelapse #1 video, which was an amazing time, watching as the sunlight hit the summit of Snowdon and tracked down the mountainsides.
Once the light had grown stronger I moved around the lake to the opposite shore, crossing the causeway and stopping to shoot this panoramic collage looking back to where I'd watched the sunrise from.
Then it was onwards and upwards along the Miners Track to Glaslyn, the highest lake along the route and as far as I got.
