An alarm call at 1.30am and a drive through the darkness got me to the shores of LLyn Llydaw at the base of Snowdon in the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales, in time to catch the wonderful change from night to day over the still waters of the lake and surrounding peaks.
Conditions were perfect for a time lapse shoot, with absolute calm giving a mirror-like reflection of Snowdon and Crib Gogh in the lake's surface, together with some light clouds drifting over the mountains' summits as the light slowly grew in intensity.
Then, a few minutes after dawn, the sun broached a band of cloud on the eastern horizon, spilling warm, golden light down from the tips of the mountains, over the undulating landscape and onto the lake itself.
I just stood there spellbound at this awesome display of my Creator God's glory and the beauty of what He has made.
'Let there be light!'
