A cold, crisp day in mid January and the low angled sunlight is cutting through the pure Snowdonia air like a knife, painting the winter landscape around Llyn Crafnant in stunning shades of gold, orange and brown.
It was the perfect day to go for a hike in this beautiful part of the National Park in North Wales, which is just what my wife Liz and I did, tramping the well laid out path and road that circumnavigates the lake.
This panoramic collage, made up of several overlapping images, shows the view back up Llyn Crafnant from the far end, featuring bare winter trees, the lake and mountainsides covered in dead bracken.
Nature just waiting for the first kiss of Spring to burst into life again.
