With over one metre's worth of rainfall a year, Capel Curig in the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales is one exceptionally soggy place.
Take a walk into the ancient woods surrounding the Afon Llugwy river and you're soon lost in a magical wonderland of tumbledown drystone walls, gnarly trees and a wide variety of spongelike mosses and lichens.
Running down the wooded hills into the valley of the Afon Llugwy are numerous little streams and rivulets, tumbling over the moss covered rocks as they go.
My wife Liz and I were enjoying a squelchy hike through the woods when I came across this tiny waterfall right by the edge of the path.
The combination of gently splashing water surrounded by colourful mosses was just a treat, so I spent a couple of minutes trying to catch the ambiance of the Capel Curig woodlands, expressed in this minature landscape.
