The story behind this image

During the long weekend at the end of April 2021 that my wife Liz and I spent exploring the coast of west Wales from our AirBnB at Barmouth, one of our favourite 'finds' was the quaint seaside town of Aberdyfi.

We'd never been to Aberdyfi before, and were immeadiately charmed by its 'olde worlde' ambiance and lovely coastline, sitting at the mouth (aber) of the Dyfi river as it empties into Cardigan bay.

We made two trips to Aberdyfi during our stay, with lovely sunny, warm weather on both occasions, which no doubt helped in our appreciation of the area's charm.

And, of course, as we wandered around taking in the sights I had my camera to hand to photograph some of the more expressive views on offer, hopefully capturing a little of the relaxed loveliness of Aberdyfi along the way.

I photographed this view as we walked along the rocky path on the banks of the estuary, heading upstream from the town itself, with the colours of the water and sand just glowing in the light of the afternoon sun.
