It's not often that I venture out filming in weather this bad, but the dramatic cloudplay over the Vale of Clwyd near where I live in North Wales was just too good to miss.
So risking a soaking while my wife Liz stayed sensibly in our car, I hunkered down behind a drystone wall in the Pen Barras car park on the slopes of Moel Famau and set up my camera and tripod as low as possible to keep out of the near gale that was blowing at the time.
With storm clouds racing towards me, and heavy rain showers tracking across the Vale of Clwyd stretched out below, I managed to keep shooting for fifteen minutes before finally getting caught in a downpour that signalled the end of my efforts.
Mind you, that fifteen minutes of filming was just wonderful, and well worth the buffeting I and my camera endured to capture this drama filled evening in North Wales.
