Cold, wet, windy, cloudy, mountainous. I could easily be forgiven for thinking I was at home exploring Snowdonia - but I wasn't!
No - my wife Liz and I were driving up from our holiday resort on the south coast of Tenerife to explore the scenery in the north western corner of the island, and with the weather getting steadily worse the further north we got we were soon looking for a handy roadside cafe, being much in need of a hot coffee.
High in the Teno mountains that form the Gigantes cliffs we found what we were looking for, and undeterred by the weather I decided to shoot the half hour's worth of still images needed to make this time lapse video.
So while Liz wisely stayed in the cafe I donned every layer of clothing that we'd brought with us and set up on the terrace overlooking this stunning view of terraced hillsides and mean looking clouds.
It wasn't long before the rain started in earnest, and although I was tempted to pack it in and head indoors I stuck with it and was rewarded by some lovely lighting conditions as the sun found gaps in the wrack and painted the landscape below with splashes of liquid gold.
Mind you, I was glad when the half hour was up and I could escape to the cafe to get me and the camera dried out before driving on further up north.
