Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands, situated in the Atlantic ocean to the west of Africa, provides some wonderful sunsets and sunrises, through the clear oceanic air.
So during our two week stay on Tenerife in February 2025 my wife Liz and I made the most of the opportunity, touring around in our hire car, but almost always ending up facing west towards the sunset at the end of the day.
On this particular evening we stopped on the TF-28, high in the hills overlooking the Valle de San Lorenzo and the seaside resorts of Costa Adeje.
I chose this spot as I wanted to create this time lapse video of the sun setting into the Atlantic, followed by the twilight slowly giving way to night and the bright lights of the resorts along the coast.
So all in all we spent just under two hours parked in a layby, watching and filming as the day turned to night in a spectacular display of colour and light.
Quite a view!
