Talacre Lighthouse Video #1

The story behind this video

Surely one of the most photograhed lighthouses in Wales, this is the abandoned Point of Ayr lighthouse, sited improbably on an oak plug set into the sand on Talacre beach.

The lighthouse is in the tidal zone, so gets surrounded by sea twice a day, which makes for an ever changing visual experience.

My favourite time of day to visit and photograph at Talacre is the hour either side of sunrise.

Not only is the light great for photography, but you have the whole beach to yourself as well, which certainly isn't the case later in the day!

So I filmed this real time video, the first of a series of three, just after sunrise with the tide rising around the lighthouse.

Certainly a great way to start the day!
