The combination of sun and snow on a cold winter's day in January 2025 proved too much of a temptation for my wife Liz and myself.
So we wrapped up warm and headed for the Snowdonia (now called Eryri) National Park, just an hour and a bit's drive from our home in north Wales.
The light quality in Snowdonia on a sunnt winter's day is just breathtaking, as was the cold, but that didn't deter us as we parked up in the popular viewpoint overlooking Snowdon on the A498.
But this view isn't of Snowdon, but rather is looking north towards the magnificent Glyderau range.
What attracted me to this view was the swirling layer of thin cloud, hovering over the flanks of the mountains, with the snow dappled peak of Glyder Fach just poking out of the mist.
In the end I stood in the cold, filming a sixteen minute real time video of the scene, which I later speeded up in Adobe Premiere Pro to create this time lapse effect, which shows off the movement of the clouds in a most appealing manner.
