A cold, crisp and clear winter's day - the perfect condtions for a drive through the spectacular scenery of the Snowdonia (now called Eryri) National Park in north Wales.
And scenery doesn't come much more spectacular than the Snowdon Horseshoe, as viewed from the layby on the road down to Llyn Gwynant.
We'd noticed this unusual weather phenomemon on the approach towards the mountains from Capel Curig, with the rising air from the Nant Gwynant valley to the west blowing over Y Lliwedd, causing moisture to condense out and form this cascade of swirling vapour over the high ridge.
So, of course, I wasn't going to let this opportunity pass me by, so as soon as we were parked up at the viewpoint I had my camera gear out and clicking away, capturing the hundreds of still images needed to create just these few seconds of time lapse video.
And then, all too soon it seemed to me, there was a subtle change in the wind direction and the crown of swirling white vapour slowly vanished, leaving the ridge summit of Y Lliwedd looking almost naked against the bright blue winter's sky.
What a wonderful part of God's creation we live in here in north Wales!
