A sunny winter's day, following on from a few days of snowfall, had my wife Liz and I heading off to the Snowdonia National Park in North Wales to check out the views of snow on the mountains.
Our first stop of the day was the iconic overlook at Plas-y-Brenin, with views out over Llyn Mymbyr towards Snowdon and its surrounding horseshoe ridge at the far end of the lake.
Although the forecast had promised sunshine, the actual mountain weather was anything but, with a brisk, cold wind blowing storm clouds over the peaks.
Just great conditions for me to shoot this time lapse video then!
Things got even more interesting halfway through the shoot, as the threatened snowstorm arrived right overhead, pelting me and my camera with snow pellets.
Fortunately these hard pellets just bounced off the camera without settling and melting, so I just left the shutter clicking away right through the worst of it.
The funny thing was, once I'd finished taking the hundreds of exposures needed to make this video the snow stopped, the skies cleared and the sun came out!
Typical Snowdonia weather!
