A cold, clear, very early morning in late November and I'm stood by my tripod on the slopes of Moel Famau overlooking the Vale of Clwyd as the constellations wheel overhead in the clear night sky.
Below me the streetlights of Ruthin are glowing brightly against the night cloaked landscape as the odd car adds a bit of movement to an otherwise seemingly lifeless scene.
Orion the Hunter dominates the western sky as he slowly sinks towards the horizon, escaping from the coming dawn as light creeps across the sky from behind me to the east.
Slowly, slowly the darkness lifts as the cool blue light of dawn heralds the start of another day over this wonderful land.
In the woods surrounding me the awakening birds start to sing as I reluctantly switch off my camera and pack everything away, heading home to get ready for another shift in the factory.
But what a way to start the day, alone with God surrounded by the wonder of His creation.
