4.30am on a wild winter's morning in North Wales, and I'm hunkered down by my camera and tripod, sheltering behind a low wall in the car park at Moel Famau, watching and filming as a stiff westerly breeze blows broken cloud over the Vale of Clwyd far below me.
A full moon plays hide and seek behind the clouds, lighting up the heavens in a crazy dance of light and shadow, while nestled in the Vale the lights of the market town of Ruthin shine out in the night.
Maybe not 'sunny f16' conditions, but meat and drink to me in my never ending search for dramatic weather and light.
Well worth losing some sleep and bodily warmth to be a part of!
