Dusk falls and the nearly full moon rises over the mirror-like surface of Sprague Lake, high in the Rocky Mountain National Park.
This is a magical time, as liz and I sit by the side of the lake and watch silently as the last of the sun's rays creep up the flanks of the mountains to the east until all the land falls under the shadow of night.
Eventually we tear ourselves away and head back to the trailhead car park for the drive back to Estes Park, with the anticipation of another wonderful day to come tomorrow.
