This whimsical little time lapse video was filmed from the beach overlooking the little harbour at Rhos-on-Sea, a charming olde worlde seaside town on the North Wales coast.
I had planned to travel a bit further westwards to Llandudno, and film a time lapse from the side of the Great Orme, overlooking the town as dusk fell and the lights came on.
But a stiffish, chilly breeze put paid to that idea, and I decided to stay at sea level, out of what would have been a serious wind at higher altitude.
The timing for my plan B at Rhos-on-Sea was pretty much perfect, with a rising tide due to fill the harbour and float the small flotilla of yachts moored there, just as night fell and the lights of Colwyn Bay lit up the background headland.
And so it proved to be.
I jammed my tripod in the sand next to an upturned boat which I used as a seat and started recording stills about an hour before sunset, carrying on for around two and a half hours until the tide had surrounded and floated all the yachts and dinghies laid out before me.
But I had an unexpected bonus in the form of the planet Mars, clealy visible rising above the moored yachts and tracking left to right as the evening progressed.
See if you can spot it towards the end of the video.
