A spell of hot, sunny weather over North Wales in July 2021 came to an end with the arrival of some impressive thunderstorms and downpours.
My wife Liz and I had headed to the coast at Prestatyn, hoping to get a walk along the promenade before the threatened rain arrived, but we just managed to get to the end of the car park before the first fat drops hit the concrete so we turned rapidly around and headed back to the relative safety of our car.
But with a huge rainstorm tracking across the horizon out over the turbines of the Gwynt-y-Môr windfarm I wasn't going to miss the opportunity to shoot the few hundred still images needed to create this time lapse video.
Fortunately I'd recently invested in an OpTech rainsleeve for my camera, and with that fitted it was only me that got wet during the filming of this video!
Well worth a little dampness to capture such a dramatic weather event.
