A group of guys from my church King's Christian Centre, Mold spent last weekend away at the CMC outdoor activity centre at Pensarn on the Wales coast just by Harlech.
We had a great time getting soaked and frozen, but one of the things I enjoyed the most was being able to see stars that, back home in North Wales, I can't see because of light pollution.
I thought 'what a great opportunity to do some star timelapse', so when most everyone else had retired to the pub I was out pointing my camera at the heavens, trying my hand at recording the movement of the myriad stars that were visible in this dark environment.
However, as happens nine times out of ten, things didn't go according to plan and clouds were soon sweeping overhead blocking out the stars.
I decided to keep the camera running even so, as I was using the centre where we were staying as foreground, and there were some interesting light effects going on as people came and went.
When I put it all together as a video I was pleasantly suprised as the passing clouds provided good interest in the sky to compliment the action at ground level.
All in all, a pleasing reminder of a great weekend.
