A couple of days spent at Beaumaris on the beautiful Isle of Anglesey, just off the north Wales coast, culminated in a short drive to see the iconic Trwyn Du lighthouse and Puffin Island at Penmon Point, the most southeasterly spot on Anglesey.
Up to then, the weather had been a bit 'dreich', with grey overcast skies and the sort of drizzle that soaks you without you knowing it.
But for a couple of hours, while my wife Liz and I were there, the sun came out, the clouds melted away and we were treated to the most gorgeous, fresh, sharp light.
So I made the most of the opportunity, scrambling over the seaweed encrusted rocks with tripod and camera to shoot video clips of the lighthouse and Puffin Island from different angles.
And to add a bit of variety, we had one of the Menai Straits Ribride boats pausing for a look at the lighthouse before zooming off in a cloud of spray.
But it wasn't long before the clouds crept back over the face of the sun and the scene faded to grey once again.
But never mind - if there was lovely weather all the time we wouldn't appreciate those brief glimpses of the sunshine nearly as much!
