With rain and cloud forecast over our home in North Wales, my wife Liz and I decided to spend an afternoon in sunnier climes over to the northeast at New Brighton on the tip of the Wirral Peninsula where the famous river Mersey empties into the Irish Sea.
Well the weather certainly didn't disappoint, with lovely sunshine and light, fluffy cumulus clouds drifting by overhead while, looking back along the North Wales coast we could see ominous rain clouds gathering on the horizon and slowly heading our way.
So, determined to make the most of the good weather while we could, we parked up right next to the beach at Fort Perch Rock, got out the folding chairs and picnic and settled down for a relaxing time at the seaside.
But of course, I couldn't let such an opportunity pass me by, so I was soon out of my seat again and setting up my camera to record the hundreds of still images needed to create this time lapse video of those lovely clouds drifting over the fort and New Brighton lighthouse.
What a lovely way to spend an afternoon, and the clouds held off till just after teatime as well!
