Looking like a set from Lord of the Rings, the Nant Ffrancon valley in the Snowdonia National Park boasts waht must be one of the most stunning views in the UK.
Mountains, a huge waterfall, forests, fields, river and RAF jets pulling some serious G low overhead as they hammer around the peak of Pen Yr Olwen, this a place to savour.
Especially when the weather plays along too, as it did on this lovely summer's afternoon with light cumulus clouds wafting by overhead, casting patches of sunlight and shadow on the landscape below.
I picked my vantage point carefully for this shoot, with my tripod perched on a rock in the middle of the river right at the top of a serious waterfall cascading to the valley floor a couple of hundred feet below.
Just a fantastic place, and I'm planning a return trip, this time looking up from the valley floor to catch that waterfall in all its glory.
Don't you just love Snowdonia!
