One of the most charming places that my wife Liz and I 'discovered' during our two week holiday exploring Devon and Cornwall was the small fishing village of Mevagissey on the south coast near St Austell.
With a busy harbour split into an inner and outer quay and quaint narrow streets leading up from the shore Mevagissey was a visual delight, so much so that we made the effort to visit twice, which was quite a drive from our base near Bude to the northeast.
Our second visit was timed to catch the sunset and dusk, as I specifically wanted to shoot this time lapse sequence showing the lights of the town coming on and reflecting in the still waters of the harbour below.
And I wasn't disappointed as we spent a happy hour or so on the quayside watching and filming as boats rocked at their moorings below and the natural light of day slowly leached from the sky above.
I kept on shooting images until nearly all the twilight had gone before relucantly starting the long drive back to our holiday cottage.
A long way to go, but well worth the effort to see such loveliness.
