Surely one of the most beautifully situated bridges in the world.
This is Thomas Telford's magnificent suspension bridge, spanning the Menai Straits between mainland Wales and the Isle of Anglesey over a patch of very dangerous water called the 'Swellies'.
This is the iconic view of the bridge, as seen from the Anglesey side of the Straits looking towards the snow capped peaks of Snowdonia in the background.
Parked up in the thoughfully provided layby, Liz and I enjoyed the view over a couple of hours either side of sunset on a cold winter's eve in 2016, watching and filming as the last of the sunlight fled the scene and the yellow lights of the bridge took over as the main source of illumination, reflecting in the turbulent waters below.
A lovely place to end the day.
