One of the major astronomical events of January 2019 was the full lunar eclipse, occuring over North Wales during the early hours of the 21st.
Weather conditions were always going to be the limiting factor as to how much of the eclipse I could watch and film, and so it proved to be, with heavy cloud obscuring the blood moon phase of the event.
However, later on towards dawn the skies cleared allowing me to shoot the hundreds of still images needed to make this time lapse video showing the final half hour of the eclipse as the earth's shadow cleared from the face of the full moon.
Not the full eclipse by any means, but still a very satisfying and beautiful astronomical spectacle to be able to witness and photograph.
