Late September 2021 certainly gave us a mixed bag of weather over North Wales, as frontal systems from the Atlantic ocean did battle with a high pressure system over the Azores.
The result in the mountains and valleys of the Snowdonia National Park was a rapidly changing cycle between downpours and bright sunshine, perfect for a spot of time lapse photography if you can keep your camera dry. (Getting yourself rained on doesn't count!)
So I took full advantage of a half hour burst of sunshine to capture the hundreds of still images needed to create this time lapse video featuring the famous 'Lonely Tree', just off the shores of Llyn Padarn at Llanberis, with stormy looking cumulus clouds streaming by grazing the summit of Snowdon on their way past.
And that's part of the fascination of outdoor photography in North Wales, the skies and weather are hardly ever boring, and with fantastic scenery to look at as well, what's not to love?!
