Allegedly the most photographed tree in North Wales, this famous 'Lone Tree' even has its own web page.
And why not, with its unique location just off the banks of Llyn Padarn at Llanberis, with the ruins of Dolbadarn castle and the high peaks of the mountains around Snowdon in the background, the whole view is one of compositional perfection.
Add in some well structured clouds reflecting in the still waters of the lake and you've got a scene with interest in every part of the frame.
But of course, one photo just isn't enough when faced with such beauty, and a time lapse sequence showing those clouds scudding across the scene conveys so much more of the interplay of light and shadow than a single image could.
This video compresses around half an hour of real time into just 20 seconds, giving an unusual perspective on this amazing view.
