A brief break in the December wind and rain had my wife Liz and I jumping in the car and heading for the mountains of the Snowdonia National Park for some much needed fresh air and a change of scenery.
After a tour of some of our favourite beauty spots we ended up overlooking Llyn Mymbyr as sunset approached.
Conditions were amazingly calm for the time of year, with the snow dusted peaks of the Snowdon Horseshoe reflecting beautifully in the lake's crystal waters.
So a climb down to the lakeshore was in order, laden down with photographic gear in order to capture the hundreds of still images required to create this time lapse video as the light slowly faded away.
With clouds moving over the peaks it was a wonderful half hour or so down by the water, until a rain shower decided to move over, the arrival of which you can witness at the end of this video.
