Llyn Mymbyr must be one of the most photogenic lakes in Snowdonia - that is to judge by the number of serious (i.e. tripod wielding) photographers who rock up there for sunset.
I was here at the end of January to check out the position of the sunset relative to the Snowdon Horseshoe over to the west, with the thought of shooting a timelapse video of the sun setting behind the peaks.
As you can see from the video, I was a little early, with the sun setting to the south of the mountains, but the sky was so dramatic that I couldn't resist shooting this 'prequel' to what I hope will be the main event in a month's time.
I just hope I get as wonderful a sky the next time I'm here, otherwise it will be a six month wait until the sun is back in the right position again.
Such is the life of an outdoor photography enthusiast!
