If you like dramatic weather, combined with stunning scenery, then the Snowdonia (now called Eryri) National Park is the place for you.
With lakes, forests, mountains, waterfalls and coastline, all in the path of weather systems blowing in from the Irish Sea to the west, there's never a dull moment in the skies over the park.
Which is why I spend so much time here, filming time lapse videos of the clouds and light playing over the landscape.
And a particularly lovely spot is Llyn Gwynant, in the shadow of Snowdon, a lake surrounded by mountains and forests at the head of the Nant Gwynant valley.
This particular time lapse shoot took place towards the end of August in 2024 during a period of very changeable weather, with heavy clouds interspersed with shafts of sunlight speeding over the peaks and lake on a stiff westerly breeze.
Typical north Wales weather, and absolutely exhilarating!
