I'd spent a greyish sort of day climbing Moel Siabod in Snowdonia, and I was on my way back home when I decided to call in at Llandudno to see how the tide was behaving.
It was a new moon that evening, giving an impressive tidal range of eight metres so I thought that maybe a timelapse video of the incoming tide set against the famous pier would be interesting, even with a flat grey sky to contend with.
The tide had just started coming back in an hour before sunset as I set up my good old Canon on the side of the road overlooking the pier, and I spent a happy couple of hours in the company of some sea anglers who were all to keen to keep me entertained with stories of their fishy adventures as old faithful clicked away at a frame every fifteen seconds, recording the movement of the water as day faded into night.
Eventually I had to move position down to the rocky shore to catch the last bit of the tide before packing up and heading home, tired but happy.
