4am on a morning in early June 2021 and I'm all alone on the promenade at Llandudno on the North Wales coast, looking out to sea over the glassy, calm water to the far horizon, lit by the orange twilight glow of the approaching sunrise.
And it was the sunrise I came here to enjoy and film on this beautiful morning, but with half an hour to spare I took myself and my camera kit down onto my favourite old wooden jetty to shoot a few hundred stills to create this time lapse video of the wooden planks slowly sinking beneath the rising tide.
It was a delightful half hour, watching as the sky slowly brightened and with only the sussurant hiss of the gentle wavelets washing under the jetty as accompaniment.
The timing was just great too, as my tripod legs were just getting wet when it was time to up sticks and head over to my chosen sunrise location overlooking the iconic Visctorian pier.
But that's anorther time lapse and another story.
