Driving back from Loch Lomond in Scotland to our holiday cottage near Girvan in South Ayrshire my wife Liz and I decided to take a detour to the seaside town of Largs on the west coast, overlooking the Firth of Clyde seaway.
After a stroll around the seafront it was time to set up for my, by now almost ritual, Scotland sunset time lapse video shoot.
Looking out to the northwest I was treated to a spectacular display of sunbeams as the sun played hide and seek behind a bank of low cloud settled on the horizon.
All too soon the light show was over for another day, and it was time to climb back in the car to continue our journey south.
