During our two week stay in an apartment overlooking Lake Como in northern Italy I took advantage of the spectacular view from our balcony to shoot timelapse sequences at all times of the day and night, capturing the varied weather and lighting conditions that occured during our stay.
For most of our stay, conditions were quite cloudy, with a mist over the mountains that resulted in some quite subdued sunrises.
But on this particular morning the day dawned bright and clear, with the light of the rising sun catching the peaks of the mountains behind Lake Como and slowly trickling down the slopes before finally arriving on the far shore of the lake itself.
This only happened once during our stay, and it was well worth getting up very early to witness and photograph such a beautiful scene.
