One of my pleasures is driving, and when on holiday I'll seek out interesting and challenging roads to explore.
So when my wife Liz and I decided on a long weekend in England's Lake District, out came the maps to plan some routes.
I was fortunate in that, along with a lot of lakes, the Lake District also has a lot of mountains, crisscrossed with some great, narrow, winding roads.
One such is the Kirkstone Pass, linking Ambleside and Patterdale.
At 1,489 feet above sea level the Kirkstone Pass is the highest road in the Lake district and with spectacular views, proved to be a great drive.
We pulled into this layby overlooking the small lake of Brothers Water to have a bite to eat and for me to shoot the hundreds of still images needed to create this time lapse sequence.
It was a lovely afternoon, with light clouds blowing over the landscape, and as you can see from the video, there were plenty of other tourists driving the same dramatic route.
